Presenter Bio:
Paul A. Carrubba is a member of the Banking and Finance Team of the Transactions and Corporate Advisory Services Group at Adams & Reese, LLP.
He has extensive experience with the legal and managerial aspects of the banking industry. From 1995-2003, he served as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the Global Payments Group of Carreker Corporation in Dallas, Texas, where he was responsible for the overall management of the software lines of business. He was also responsible for the implementation and project management of software installation, providing consultation to major banking organizations in the U.S., Australia, the U.K. and South Africa on issues dealing with bank operations, fraud reduction, and the laws and regulations surrounding the payment system, and providing expert testimony and litigation support. He also served as a private practitioner and bank consultant for a number of years, and served over two decades as Senior Vice President and Manager of Operations for Deposit Guaranty National Bank in Jackson, Mississippi. Aside from being responsible for all operational functions within the bank, he developed systems for detection of new account fraud and check kitting.
Mr. Carrubba received his Juris Doctorate cum laude from Mississippi College School of Law in 1979, and in 1972, earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Southern Mississippi.
He has taught courses for the Bank Administration Institute on Principals of Banking, Demand Deposits, Savings Deposits, Trust Services, and Money and Banking. He has also conducted training seminars on numerous banking topics. He is a member of the faculty of the Alabama School of Banking and the BAI’s Graduate School of Bank Operations and Technology and formerly taught at the Mississippi School of Banking.
Mr. Carrubba was a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA), the Bank Administration Institute’s Council for Educational Services and the Operations and Technology Commission and served as Chairman of the Operations and Automation Committee of the Mississippi Bankers Association. In 1991 and 1992 he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Southern Financial Exchange.
